 Mount Carmel Baptist Church invites you and your family to the
Installation of our 11th Pastor

Mount Carmel is honored to install Reverend Dr. Paris Lee Smith, Sr. as its 11th undershepherd.

Reverend Dr. James C. Perkins of Greater Christ Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan and 20th president of the Progressive National Baptist Convention, Inc., will serve as guest preacher for the Installation Service.

Members of the community and area preachers are welcome to join us in this special celebration.

A special fellowship dinner will be served after the morning worship service.

About Reverend Dr. Paris L. Smith, Sr.

A native of Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Smith was ordained by Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church of Detroit. He attended Wayne State University and earned a Bachelor of Theology from the Tennessee School of Religion, Memphis, Tennessee. He earned a Master’s of Divinity from The Interdenominational Theological Center (Morehouse School of Religion), Atlanta, Georgia, and a Doctorate of Ministry as a Curtis-Stewart Fellow at United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio.

Dr. Smith has pastored in Louisville, Kentucky, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, and in Griffin, Georgia. He has served in ministerial roles at churches throughout Detroit, Michigan. In 2007, Dr. Smith published From Plantation to the Pulpit: The Transforming Message of the Black Baptist Church (Xulon Press), which details the uniqueness of the black Baptist Church, her stories and her journeys of faith.
